What is a presbytery?

Committees of the South Atlantic Presbytery

• Committee on Candidates & Credentials
  This committee examines the candidates for the Gospel ministry and assigns parts of trial and conduct examinations for liecensure as given in Chapter 13 of the "Form of Government."


• Committee on Missions
  This committee oversees the church extension work within the bounds of Presbytery, keeping before Presbytery the needs and opportunities within its bounds. It works in close cooperation with the home and foreign mission agencies approved or established by the General Synod of the Bible Presbyterian Church.


• Committee on Christian Educaton and Youth Work
  This committee encourages and promotes youth work in the Presbytery and calls attention to the sessions of the churches the necessity of a strong Christian educational emphasis for children, youth, and adults and it shall direct our youth to fundamental Christian colleges.


• Committee on Resolutions
  


• Committee on Sessional Records
  This committee examines the session records at the spring meeting of Presbyery and provides to the session of each church a written statement of what is required to be included in the sessional records.
