Memorial for Billy Carlton Hill

Billy Carlton Hill, 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, July 20, 2018.

Born and raised in Covington, VA, he served in the United States Marine Corps during World War I. Billy was a builder by trade, and later a business owner in Virginia. In 1978 he relocated, with his family, to South Carolina where he worked in retail and real-estate. Billy was a godly man and walked faithfully with his Lord, serving in various churches as both deacon and elder. At the time of his passing he was a member of Living Hope Presbyterian Church in Greer, South Carolina, where he served as an elder for the last ten years of his life. One of his deepest desires at the end of his life was to see Living Hope become a part of the Bible Presbyterian denomination. The Lord granted that desire just months before his passing.

His family was blessed by his life, love, and wisdom. One of his favorite sayings was, "Only one life, 'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last." His life here has passed. He is now with his Lord in Heaven, but the legacy he leaves with his family and friends will last forever. His favorite verse was Philippians 1:21, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
